My World
Jérôme borrowed his motto to James Dean : “Dream as if you live forever, live as if you will die today”.
“By chance my mother brought me to a karting place during holidays in Tenerife for the first time”, Jérôme explains when asked where his passion for motor racing comes from. “I was playing soccer at the time. I never forgot this experience and decided to continue. I was such an enthusiast that for Christmas my father bought me my first kart (1994) and I continued and stepped slowly and naturally into racing”.
His best memory so far is his winning the World Karting Championship in 2002. An achievement that balances his joining the Renault F1 Team as a Formula One driver. “The dream of any driver is to climb up to F1 and stay up there”.
He likes Spa-Francorchamps ; “my home circuit” and the street circuits at Monaco and Pau. “You can really feel the adrenaline rushing through your veins. It is quite an experience”, he acknowledges.
Jérôme prefers water as a beverage and enjoys Japanese sushi and sashimi. His training goes through intensive running, and he enjoys watching football games. During his spare time, he practices skiing, and likes to go to the cinema and to listen to music.
Perseverant, and with a supporting family, his ultimate target is to become Formula One World Champion.
