Frustrating race in GP2 series

Gravity Academy drivers had a difficult afternoon in Barcelona today. German rookie Christian Vietoris, who started fourth and had high hopes for the race, had to retire after an incident at the first corner. Jérôme d’Ambrosio had to retire when he was 8th, following a wheelnut failure. Ho-Pin was the only driver to see the finish line. Unfortunately, he was out of the top8 and did not score points.

GP2 : Qualifying in Barcelona

Gravity Academy drivers will start from 4th (Christian Vietoris), 16th (Jérôme d’Ambrosio) and 22nd (Ho-Pin Tung) positions tomorrow, in Barcelona, for the first round of the GP2 series, while Jules Bianchi will start from pole. The ART Grand Prix driver secured the top spot with a best lap of 1m27.727s, putting him a comfortable 0.284s clear of the nearest challenger, Barwa Addax’s Sergio Perez.

Bianchi’s team-mate Sam Bird will start from third alongside Racing Engineering’s Christian Vietoris for an all-rookie second row, and the third row was also locked out by first-timers in the shape of Oliver Turvey (iSport) and Charles Pic (Arden), with Dani more …

Interview with Jerome and Ho-Pin

The Renault F1 Team’s Third Driver, Ho-Pin Tung, and Reserve Driver, Jérôme D’Ambrosio, will be in action in Barcelona this weekend competing in the opening round of the GP2 Series. Racing for the DAMS team, their cars will carry the distinctive colours of the Renault F1 Team, with both men determined to get their seasons off to a strong start.
