Marco Wittmann tried to gain as many places as possible in today’s race 2 in Valencia. The Gravity Academy driver overtook quite a lot of his rivals and finished in 7th position. After 3 events, Marco is 2nd in the championship standings.
In the meantime, Kevin Magnussen took the victory after grabbing the lead from reversed grid pole-sitter Nicolas Marroc at the start.

Marco had a difficult race today in Valencia. Starting from 5th, his ambition was to get onto the podium and to defend his championship contender status. Unfortunately, a broken part on his car from lap 1 caused quite a lot of trouble. Marco dropped from fifth on the grid to 10th on the opening lap after twice getting wide onto the grass in the first few seconds of the race. At the 4.005 kilometres long track near Valencia, Edoardo Mortara (Signature, 1:28.583 minutes) was fastest in a qualifying session of the Formula 3 Euro Series for the first time in his career. As a result, the 23-year old will be starting from pole position into tomorrow’s fifth season round of the world’s toughest junior race series. The Geneva-based Italian will be followed on the grid by the best-placed rookie, Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam, 1:28.787 minutes) and Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix, 1:28.827 minutes).
