This weekend, DAMS raced in the third round of the 2010 GP2 Series in Turkey on the Istanbul Park circuit, a curtain-raiser to the F1 grand prix. Due to a difficult qualifying session, the team was unable to fight for victory in the two races on Saturday and Sunday.

Sergio Perez has been disqualified from today’s feature race in Istanbul after his car was discovered to be underweight in post race scrutineering. The Mexican, who battled Davide Valsecchi throughout the race and was second after his pitstop before fading in closing laps to fourth place, will have his result nullified and will now line up at the rear of the grid for tomorrow morning’s sprint race.

Gravity Academy drivers Christian Vietoris, Jérôme d’Ambrosio and Ho-Pin Tung finished race 1 in 8th, 11th and 12th positions respectively, while Pastor Maldonado has taken the win, leading home Davide Valsecchi and Sam Bird by almost 20 seconds.
