How do you feel about your season so far? JT: “Well, we had some problems at the beginning, some bad luck, but things are getting better. I won at Spa and last weekend I did a Formula Renault race, which went off well so I’m really optimistic for Monza. I think we can achieve a good result, and I can finish in third place in the championship.”

You drove a fantastic race at Spa. Why did you decide to stay out on slicks in the rain? AT: “I watched the previous races and practice sessions, and I saw that the track was drying very quickly. I knew that Spa’s a long track and I said to myself that some parts of the track were going to be still dry, and I was starting from the back (27th place), because I had a crash in race 1. Renault F1’s reserve driver catches up with us while attending the Hockenheim “World Series” event, doing donuts in a R29.
Jérôme, Spa must have been a big disappointment for you… JDA : “It was. On the other hand, it was a very good weekend. The performance was there and it’s better something like that than just trundling around at the back of the field.”
What was the engine problem? JDA : “It was the con rod. It just went through the floor!”
